Why my crush called me when he's drunk?

I liked him and I thought he likes me too. He does say he likes me but he just comitted to another girl. Since that moment, I maintained a distance with him. I'm so hurt and I've been crying for hell for weeks coz I was ignored for 1 week. This past week he called me and told me that he missed me so much but I didn't show I missed him too. I'm like oh really and what you want from me now. He kept on calling me when he was drunk and he texted me that he likes me so much. I'm like you're drunk and stop blabbering. I can't stay angry with him. I tried to hate him but I couldn't. Sometimes I knew that what he really wants is attention and I'm really worried about him.
