If a guy is always staring at you, does that mean he likes you?

My (girl) friend said that my (boy) best friend is always staring at me. Like, every time he falls quiet in conversation, she sees him watching me, even if we're in a big group. On top of that, I've had a few weird situations with him when I'll turn around and he'll just be staring at me with this far off look on his face...and when I ask him why he's looking at me so strangely he can't give a reason why. The other day was a particularly strange situation...we were sitting in the hall at school and there was a lull in the conversation, when I had this intense feeling that he was looking at me (I kind of saw it in the corner of my eye). I sat there for 2 minutes feeling like that before I finally looked up at him, and he shifted his eyes a second too late so I saw that he really had been staring at me. I didn't say anything that time, but the way he shifted so that he was staring at the wall instead was pretty obvious haha.

So, my question is, when a guy is constantly watching you and staring at you like that, does it mean that he has a crush on you? My friend says yes, but I'd like other opinions too. :)

Yes it does. In fact, he didn't shift his gaze a little late, he wants you to know he likes looking at you. Guys who lack the confidence to make the first move hope deep down that if a girl sees them staring at them then the girl will make the first move. This is coming from a former shy guy/starer.

If you like him or want to try going out with him make sure he doesn't think you think the staring is weird. Take it as a compliment and make the first move. When he stares think of that as he way of saying you are beautiful.

If you don't like him "like that" and you just want to be friends then continue to ignore the staring. Don't address it with him. Just let him live in his dream world until he grows some courage and you can reject him properly or you graduate, whichever comes first ;-)

I actually do like him a lot, but I've just always been too scared to say anything. I was talking to another guy we're friends with about it and he suggested that we do a triple date with him and his girlfriend, and my other friend (the one who told me about the staring) and her crush, as a way for me to ease into asking him out. Do you think that will give him the hint that I like him, too, or do I have to ask him on a one-on-one date for him to get it?

The group date is a very good idea. The key to showing a shy guy that you are into him is to touch him. Make sure you sit near him on the date and when he says something that makes you laugh just touch his hand or arm. If he isn't a complete idiot he will get the point. He may still be too shy to make a move though. If it seems like likes when you make contact then don't be afraid to ask him for a more exlusive date or set up another group date.

Yep, a guy staring at you typically means he likes you... shy guys tend to do this more often.

i think he defenetly likes you but in order to show fhat you like him try to spend more time with him to get to know him more that way you could have a stronger connection with him which would help with a good relationship.

I'd say so. I'm going through a very similar situation as you are with my crush. I think this guy really wants you. If he can't keep his eyes off of you, you've pretty much won him.
