Will a guy keep staring at you just because he thinks you like him?

On Monday, my friends and I were sitting with our seniors and I found one of the guys very cool. We talked for a bit and then while others were talking, me and that guy had eye contact for several seconds until one of us broke it.

I mean there were other girls too there but he wasn't even looking at them. My guy friend who was with me met him the next day and told him that people are talking about him (he didn't mention me) in a humorous way and hinted that someone likes him, he just smiled back.

Today, we bumped into each other several times. I was entering the college building and he was coming out and he stared at me or several seconds. Then when I was going to have lunch, we again were walking in each other's direction and he again stared at me. Well I don't know why he again came back to the place where we have lunch and just sat there on a table next to me with his friends. After that I went to the library and he came there like within 5 minutes 😅

Today, our mutual friends teased him by name saying that "someone is waiting for you at the cafeteria" and he started chuckling then looked shy and looked down.

From what you said it is reasonable to assume that he is attracted to or interested in you. If he has just been staring at you when passing by without flashing a smile or greeting you, it is most likely that he isn’t the most confident person and is looking for some form of recognition on your behalf before he actually approaches and greets you. The fact that he is making a habit of running into you shows that he is trying to create more opportunities for this scenario to take place.

I also think he's getting shy around me but he has dating experience so I mean why can't he just say Hi to me.

He's into you! Definitely! I mean it is little creepy (in my opinion 😅) but yeah

He is making it obvious that he is interested in you and like he comes and sits on the table next you and stuff. So yeah. Creepy because, as you described, in my opinion, he is making it a little too office.
