Why do guys go for bimbos?

I noticed over the years that every time a guy in my social circle has had a choice between a serious/shy girl that genuinely likes him and the school flirt, he will pick the bimbo that is digging him, dates her for three weeks, then it's over and then he claims he is incapable of relationships.

I don't understand.

Meh. I don't have to make an effort.

I like to have my ego stroked. So what?

I am scared I will f*** up a serious relationship.

I just want to have fun: serious is for later, not now.

a) rarely will a guy know that the "serious/shy girl genuinely likes him". Sure, it may be obvious to YOU, but we aren't mind-readers, and the shy girls come off as uninterested

b) at your age, guys are more slaves to sex than interested in a relationship

c) just because this happens in your social circle doesn't mean guys go for bimbos. Perhaps the problem is the people you hang out with? I remember when I was 19 I was a lonely gamer, and girls rarely would give me a chance because I wasn't Captain Superhot McStuddly. Chances are that the serious/shy girl has passed over and friend-zoned several male friends because they aren't hot or exciting enough.

d) your poll answer of A scares me. If you make a guy work to be with you, that relationship will fail harder than one with a slutty bimbo.

yes, you're right, I agree with you on many points, but until now I haven't really met any guys that are different. Maybe one or two. I shall try and expand though. :P

I'm not saying me personally, but aren't girls always told to play hard to get? Don't guys enjoy the chase? etc etc

Immature guys love the chase. Then when they finally "catch" the girl, they get bored and chase someone else.

Sexual availabilty is the most attractive thing to a male, of any specie. that comes before anything else in the short term. If you have a guy, and put 2 women in front of him. one of them is dressed like a slut, winking at him, and he knows that he can have sex with her tonight, the other girl is wearing the same slutty clothing, but she is shy, and he knows that she will not have sex with him tonight, but he also knows that he could marry her if he wanted and be very very happy in the long term, the guy will go with the first slut.

So why do most guys then say they are incapable of relationships after dating a few of these? They are clearly not relationship material so why do guys then base their relationship expertise on them? Does that mean they actually fell for the bimbos or is it just an excuse to not date?

neither. Men are stupid and we think with our d***s. a lot of men, like me, base a relationship around our sex life, and the sexual side of a partner, (looks, sex drive, experimentalness) not the brains and morals of the partner. We are however, learning. One step at a time :)

Because the flirt shows interest. With shy girls, approaching her is a shot in the dark, since they don't give any signals of interest most of the time. With the flirt, it's easy to tell if she's into you. Which would you rather risk rejection from- the girl that you already know is into you, or the girl that you know nothing about?

I think it's a combination of don't have to make the effort, and the classic fear of rejection.
