Why do guys like bimbos?

Guys are always saying that they want smart girls, but I have a hard time believing this sometimes. There have been several times where I've been somewhere where there are equally physically attractive women, some smart, others not so much. Who do 95% of the guys go for? Yup, the dumb ones! Sadly, this is why some intelligent women will "dumb themselves down" for a guy. Personally, when I was single I couldn't stand guys who were dumb, even if they were super good-looking, and I didn't date them. My thoughts on this are that guys who want dumb girls either a) are very insecure about themselves and want someone inferior to them, b) have little to no respect for women as people and only see them as having value as sexual objects. Plus, smart women tend to have more dignity and respect for themselves and are less willing to degrade themselves and just do whatever a guy tells them to do to please them. But just because a woman is intelligent doesn't mean she's a prude, she just won't make a fool of herself to gain a guy's favour or necessarily put out five minutes after she meets him. What are your thoughts and theories?

Plus, smart girls are usually better educated and have higher-paying, more lucrative careers than bimbos. Do guys not find it attractive when a girl has her life together and is successful?

well it sure sounds like yohr full of your smart self. tthats a great thing. I've noticedthat for some girls. and this is a small group of girls. they think that other girls who dont habe a 4.0 grade point average are dumb. but these girls you think are dumb are truelly really smart. they are smart in a nontraditional field. the difference between them and you. they already know their smart and dont habe to flaunt it to feel good a out themselves

I don't find bimbos attractive. But personality matters too. No one wants a smart, attractive woman who is impossible to be around.

But I digress; in response to your point, I think you are wrong. Most men I know find ditziness a big turnoff. Unless it's 1 AM at a club and they're looking for any drunk hole to put it in.

I agree that people who are smart and assholes are totally undesirable. But so many women who have good personalities, are beautiful and smart are passed over for those who look good but have nothing else.

I guess I haven't been meeting them. Unfortunately there is no way to tell if someone is nice and smart by seeing them across a crowded room. But you can see what they look like.

There are some (presumably, as we hire from good U's) smart girls I work with, but I don't feel comfortable approaching them because (a) it's work and (b) they are generally much younger, just out of or still in college. My older sister told me she quit a good job when she was 19 because some guy in his 30's there was always pestering her, and I don't want to be that guy.

There can be several reasons and kind of depend on each person but here are a few off the top of my head:
1) Smart people are harder to be around: this applies to both genders. Smart people tend to have strong opinions, tend to be argumentative and tend to like in depth conversations about complex topics. That kind of people is very hard to be around if you don't like those things and just like "superficial" friendly talks.

2) People to like people with around their same level of intelligence. If the other person is a lot smarter they can hurt them by makong them feel dumb. It's "easier" to be with someone that you feel smarter

3) Society treats flirting as a "hunting"and smart people tend to see through bullshit and care more about it than "not so smart people".

4) Smart people with big egos tend to be rude and selfish, which is not very desirable.

I've been accused of points 1, 3 & 4 on several occasions.

I don't think I'm extremely intelligent. My IQ rating is "above average." But other people seem to think I'm a genius. I really don't know why.

Don't judge a book by its cover. I know a woman who was stereotyped as a "bimbo" at university because of her style. Yet, if they only gave her a chance they would have found out that she is actually an extremely smart law student from a family of very successful lawyers. Further digging would reveal she has yet to engage in a romantic relationship yet (completely opposite of what you would assume of a "bimbo") and is struggling emotionally with the expectations to live up to the standards of such a prestigious family despite her amazing academic performance.

It's all in the mind what guys want. A fair looking girl may go for tiger woods because he is an achiever but dump him when this guy goes out to get any girl he chooses for sex. Intelligence/smartness without beauty or achievement or good job is of no use. Who will give you a better life and social status in society is more important.

You have beauty but you are short. So here height can be a problem. And your weight can be a problem. There could be a beautiful guy in India , but he has brown skin , so fair skinned girls will not like him. But if he is black like Obama and has money and achievement and not so good looking , many girls will like him because of his status in society. Melinia trump can marry an old guy who is about to die just because he has money , fame , fortune and is an achiever.

Most victoria models have beauty which is more relevant for the fashion world. But they may not have brains. But they all have boyfriends even though they are very bony in structure. So guys get what they want. In this case to be with a model with money.

we guys do want smart and caring girls, but we want them when we finally want to settle down. in the long run, girls with more morals, kindness and intelligence will always win. pretty but dumb girls are just the ones to make out blood pump during the night.

bimbos are good for nothing more than dating in my opinion, I'd not even bother wasting my time. I'm only after girls I'd consider being with for life, and bimbos aren't them.

I couldn't tell you, other than maybe those good assume dumb girls put out easier. I personally prefer women I can maintain intelligent conversation with who respect themselves and expect and receive respect from me.
