Why does my boyfriend say he’s going to bed, but is up on social media later?

This happens frequently, and I’m trying to be understanding but he does it a lot.

we’ll be texting, and then he tells me he’s going to bed but is up on social media an hour or so later liking things.

one time he even texted me something sweet after he “was going to bed” nearly an hour later but hats different.

im thinking it’s because he wants alone time before bed or something like that, he’s a bit of an introvert and lately I’ve noticed him lacking interest in things.

should I be concerned? he doesn’t have an easy time falling asleep either so maybe he just does it so he can fall asleep.

but there’s a part of me saying he’s doing it to avoid talking.

If we didn't have all this technology we would never know this kind of thing. I don't think it is unusual for people to spend some alone time after they've finished a conversation with a friend or whomever. In the past people might watch tv, read a book or whatever. If it bothers you just ask him what is going on but you run the risk of him wondering why you are monitoring his movements when you aren't with him.

He may be, I know he doesn’t get a very good sleep a lot of times

I'm the same way. Go to bed, toss and turn for an hour or so, then back on the computer, watching TV, reading, etc. until I finally crash.

Yeah he doesn't want to talk, maybe that's his way of winding down, if he's introverted it's probably a lot of energy to talk

I think so but then again he was active on Snapchat to and he replied to someone so it would take the same amount of energy to do that

Not sure but how come he would initiate most conversations and reply to me within the whole day?

well I mean he obviously likes you and wants to talk to you, but like he needs a break from you

That may be true, he mostly always replies to me and initiates lots of our conversations still but there are times when he doesn’t reply at all or takes his sweet time.
