I don't know if its douchey men so much as it is a type or looks. Honestly I get that when you're a teenager but you think people would learn that types and looks are dumb. Sure we all have that perfect person blah blah blah. But at the end of the day, you want a man or a woman who treats you right. Makes you feel amazing and what someone looks like or type has very little to do with that. Sure it's great for lust (which is often mistaken for chemistry) but not great for longevity...

Many women are attracted to that because women are naturally attracted to superior mates, even if this perceived superiority is inherently toxic.

I think it's more the case that douchey men are attracted to women. They are usually nice to women when they are first going out. It's only later on that the woman realizes he's a douch.
