Why are things targeted to women and girls looked down on by men and boys so much?

Guys use “teenage girls” as an insult they’ll say that something is for “teenage girls” like that’s a factor in itself that shows poor quality. Nobody goes around insulting something for being “for boys” like I’ll say Star Wars is for boys but I’m not saying that as a factor of its quality I’m just saying I don’t want to watch a movie where the only female character gets raped by a giant slug.

run/ throw like a girl — even though female artistes are going to be in optimum condition. It Durant matter of the very top male might be stronger than the very top female.. the average joe is not going to stand up to a female athlete. And athletic girls are not sobering to laugh at.

people try to justify this by saying, it’s not sexy at its that guys don’t want to be gurus just like it’d be insulting to a girl to be called a guy. Not even in all cases and it isn’t the point of calling a person a man who’s a woman or a woman who’s a man..

the POINT is using “ girl” as a metaphor for inadequate. LIKE A GIRL or GIRLY. Is not calling a man a woman. It is implying that something inherently bad inferior in being like a girl bc girls suck... even girls insult girls by calling them girly. Or to stop being such a girl.

It's probably because prepubescent boys and girls are quite similar physically whereas men have significant physical advantages over women, and boys normally aspire to be men.
By the way, you can safely watch Return of the Jedi without fear of stumbling upon a rape scene, interspecies or otherwise, because there are none.

Can you give an example? If someone said music is for teenage girls it usually means they get some young hot effeminate boys to dance and sing to some generic pop. So saying 'it's for teenage girls' is actually a perfect description as well as telling you it's terrible at the same time.

OK that's a bit of a different example to what the op was saying. But yeah, I see why some people wouldn't like that. But it does work both ways, many men don't like being told to 'man up' since both just play off stereotypes. That is, men should be tough and not show emotion and women are very emotional. Whether it's worse to be told one or the other is really just down to opinion.
