If a girl is mean and a smart ass towards a guy?

Is it because she likes him? (bear in mind she is usually the shy/sweet kind of girl with most people, but turns into a sarcasm machine towards me). She is always telling me that I'm weird, how lame my taste in entertainment is and how hers in better, she makes fun of me in public and tells people she likes doing it because its fun, tells me how unfunny my jokes are and that I'm the only one laughing at them etc (of course, I do the exact same thing back to her and its always fun and we get a lot of laughs out of it). Of course I like her a lot because I've never met a girl like her, she is fun to be with and she is always smiling and making eye contact when we talk, could this be her way of showing affection?

Yes. She most likely likes you. That's probably just her nature & she probably likes you. I do the same thing to most guys when I have a crush on them (I guess it's just a way of getting their attention at the moment. I just asked the same question regarding guys,if you don't mind could you answer it? It's on down the page, its how do guys take it when girls pick at them. Keep up the good work :)

Yea I do the same thing. ha ha it's my way of making myself more interesting. I hate it when guys I like think I like them so I go all sarcastic to protect myself from getting hurt. You need to take the first step. It sounds like she's waiting for you to do something. A girl like that will never make the first move.
