Why would a guy smile widely when he hears your name?

Isn't it obvious? Your question is itself your answer. He only smiles when he hears your name. A guy only does that if he likes the girl.

Also, you can notice more signs than that. He would stare at you whenever you are not looking at him. Whenever a guy likes a girl his friends are the one who knows it first. While talking to you he'll start stammering, blushing, can't look you in the eyes etc.
