How come I'm shy but have more friends than my charismatic guy friend?

Maybe that's of choice? Being charismatic doesn't necessarily mean he wants to be friends with everyone.

Being shy could make you a magnet for friends though because when you open up to someone you want to get along with that person more and more. It also could mean your personality is more likeable than his, because for example, maybe he's charismatic but quite shallow and you're more interesting, and more are curious to know the real you.

Even if you are shy, people might like you because of your nature. How helping you are. And all that. But the charismatic guy, its only in the begining that charm works. Once it is gone, and people see how his actual personality is, they might stay away from him.
