What does it mean when a guy randomly says "hi" to me on the street?

He probably thinks you're pretty. A lot of guys will do that.
It's like what the book: "Are Women the Stronger Sex" says, a guy will often pay attention to/say hi to a woman whom he thinks is pretty. If you haven't read the book yet, I strongly suggest reading it as it gives a lot of information that women really need to know, concerning men and how they behave. Either you're really pretty, or you look like someone they know. It's a big city, there are a lot of people, its probably easy for people whoa re walking so fast to mistake you for someone else. This happens a lot to me as an Asian American.
