Would a guy friend spend 5+ hours with a girl if he didn't have any interest for her as a potential girlfriend?

we've hung out a couple of times alone (usually it's a group) and he always spends 5 or more hours with me. we usually just talk and walk at a park, shop, or watch a movie (and even during the movie it's just us talking). sometimes it seems like he's a little flirty but I don't know (i'm terrible at reading when a guy is flirty). he will also tease me a lot but he teases other girls too.

so would a guy spend that much time with you if he didn't have feelings for you? or would you guys spend that kinda time with a friend?

If we speak of genuine friendships, guys and girls rarely have a genuine friendship, because most of the time, one or the other wnats more than to be just friends. That doesn't mean guys and girls can never be friends, they can, but within very specific factors. That's the truth. It sounds like this guy is trying t get with you and is hoping you will fall for him. Is he doing sweet things like opening doors, treating you by taking the bill or whatever? Then he's probably trying to show you he is boyfriend material and hoping you will see him as that. If you don't feel attracted to him, then it is best to stop entertaining him and let him go. Ask him what he thinks if you two started dating. His repsonse will most likely shed light on your doubt.

I honestly haven't had a girl that I was only friends with that I would spend 5 hours doing different activities with. That is what I would do if I wanted to date someone.

Does he initiate the meet-ups? How often do you text?

so I don't think he's a huge texter with me for some reason bc he NEVER initiates. usually i'm the one that texts him, and when I do, he always replies fast (1-5 minutes). when I initiate and text him about doing something for the day, he responds within a minute. and he's usually picks me up without me even asking... like he'll say "ok so i'll pick u up in 30 minutes". so yeah we don't text much at all, but in person he's super comfortable with me and we just talk for hours

Hmm, I see. What you said about texting doesn't make it more clear whether he likes you as more than a friend or not unfortunately.

so when we are walking, we walk super close to each other (our hands brush, shoulder to shoulder) sometimes he'll turn to face me. He once said "im not dating anyone right now". he's once put his hand on my back while we were walking into a store. once I had my palm up and I was just looking at it and he put his hand on mine and was like "does this feel warm?". if we sit I will sit right next to him thighs touching, shoulders touching, and he doesn't move. he always says my height is perfect/normal. once we were at a store and this wife was yelling at her husband to bring the car so that she doesn't have to walk in the rain. so my guy friend was like, should I do what that husband did and bring the car so you don't have to walk in the rain. there's many more tiny things like this but i don't wanna make this too long... unless u wanna know

No, you don't have to say more. That is definitely flirting, your intuition was right. Congratulations, this guy thinks of you romantically. Have you flirted back or showed signs of liking him in that way too?

I mean I would think so but I don't know if they're going over his head lol. I just need to make sure he isn't flirty with everyone. I've never seen him act like this with our friends that are girls but I don't know if he would if he was alone with them. but thank you! i've been so confused these past couple of days so thank you so much

I mean I get that he likes my company. I just can't tell if him spending all this time with me means something else. Because if i'm spending time with a friend, i'd be ready to leave after 2 hours of only talking lol

I guess what i'm wondering is... would you spend that much time with a friend? doing things like grocery/mall shopping, walking, and only talking the whole time for that long of a time?

Personally, I wouldn't do that unless I knew I had a chance to have sex with the girl. Or say, if she was a life long friend.

yeah we aren't lifelong friends at all. we've been friends for a couple of months
