Why do hipsters and some more "alternative" people enjoy wearing ugly, unflattering?

The same reason people buy brand names or like old cars. We all are different we don't want to be like anyone else there's a lot if people who like being sheep and get what ever it is they get don't care what it is or looks like but there get it and there are so many of us that do that ,, that the people who make the product says people don't care let's make it cheap and it will break and they will go buy the same thing then you have the HIPSTERS. Who are different they want good quality things I need to make a point I need to stand out and say this is who I am. I'm old school this is when things were made good when we wrote our name on it we were proud of it we only wanted to make its once not burn up all our resources hipster stuff was made back in the days of hard times but we still had class no one had money very few did. we still had respect for each other now all we have is junk now look people still have no money but so many more do the world is one big manipulation and every thing is junk ask this same question in 10 years ,, anyway love your question

To them it's probably attractive. Maybe they feel as though it represents their personalities or values. A lot of them tend to be pretty artistic and refined in their art consumption so I'd be careful offending somebody like that who could very easily dismantle my favorite media in a very methodical and convincing way lol

Variety is the spice of life.

There will always be people who take certain things too far, whether it's clothes or *literally anything else in life*. But if you're just bothered by a style that doesn't work for you, that's pretty lame.
