I don't understand Men sometimes. Please help?

I have known a good guy for 2 years and had a friends with benefits type of relationship with him. We would always text each other almost every day, like best friends and I know he cared about me and even said he loves me. He said he regrets not spending more time with me and that he loved being with me. I confessed my feelings for him and asked him if he would ever give me a chance, but he said that he's sorry and he doesn't ever want to be in a serious relationship. That really hurt, and I knew that the best thing for me to do would be to not talk to him anymore because my feelings would only grow stronger for him. Somehow I think that I can eventually change his mind, but I know that a lot of women think that way and it ends up being just the way the man said it would be. But a lot of things about him confuse me, like the things he's said to me or our strong connection. I'm confused about what to do. I haven't talked to him in 3 days and it's still killing me. Any advice please?

I don’t understand him either. If he loves you, why wouldn’t he want something more serious or permanent? Maybe he just said that. I don’t know. But I think you’re wise not to try to change him. Broken hearts take time to heal; sorry it’s not working out the way you’d hoped.

This sort of thing happens frequently in friends with benefits situations because there is lots of overlap with traditional romantic relationships. Find a guy who wants the same thing you do.

So he just admitted to using you, for years. This may hurt to hear but he's a douche. A man doesn't treat women that way especially women they supposedly care about--only boys do.
