I think that's what people call the friendzone. It is likely that you are just not his type, you could ask him about his type and try and figure things out from there.

Another reason that is believed to be the reason for friendzoning is a lack of physical or sexual attraction. I do not know how you look but it is possible that he is someone who only really sees the most hottest girls as attractive.

I'd get pissed off if I sat down for the purpose of having a nice, relaxing evening and enjoying an inspiring story, and then the people end up breaking up or getting divorced just before they roll the credits.
