What does it mean when a guy says she like a sister to me?

I'm wondering if your boyfriend says you don't have to worry about her she's like a sister to me and you find out that they slept together, she was always showing her breasts to him and that he asked her on several occasions to move in with him as well as that she had broke his heart to many times.
What do you make of that?

I have an ex that I say is like a brother to me -- but I know exactly what could potentially come from us being around each other too much or, God forbid, living together - we would be back together, absolutely. Even if we both have moved on.

Ex's know you on a different level than a friend or even a sister. They know you emotional and sexually.
I am aware that when I get into a serious relationship I will need to be honest about that ex and my friendship now after the fact - though I have played it off in the past and nothing bad happened.

In my opinion, it's too soon. But some people can work it. When my husband and I first got together, I know I was still raw by my ex, and still had very strong emotional attachment, and his with his ex. But over time it dissipated, and now I think, if we even likde our exes, they could legitimately be cared for as siblings

I think my point is why did he lie and say they had nothing and she's always been like a sister to him?

Hmm, I must have missed that part. I don't know. My assumption is that he'd like to keep that bond, and friendship without worrying his new girlfriend. It's one of two things. Either you have to worry, or he will lose his emotional attachment to her... But just as most things, he can't be diagnosed over the internet, especially as not all men are the same. Be careful, guard your heart, but don't prevent yourself from being happy

I'd say that when I have a girl friend, and people ask if there is something going on.

If she is like a sister to me, then she is like family. No sexual or romantic feelings at all...

... but in this case I think he may be in denial. I think he says that to keep her around without getting judged.
