Why does my friends with benefits want to continue being friends with benefits when he’s talking to someone he loves and he’s trying to date?

We been friends with benefits for 1+ year, I gave up liking him after finding out he’s obsessed with this girl he used to hook up with too. I know they’ve been talking and possibly hanging out.. so the other night I asked if he wants to stop bc he shouldn’t be fucking someone that likes him when he’s in love with someone else. He didn’t answer he just said “do u?// If u want.” We never text, used to snap each other but he stopped I’m guessing after they started to talk again :/ he said I never ask him to hang out but it’s like if I do he says no? So like wtf lol. I’m just confused bc he wants to date this girl yet isn’t stopping this friends with benefits and is way too affectionate around me, laughs/smiles too easily when I say something and is way too comfortable to the point he farts and we laugh about it. I just feel hurt/annoyed that he tells me about this girl knowing I like him.. while being cute and shit when we hook up with play fighting, showing me around his house, talking about things Etc
