Am I friend zoned?

This guy whom I friended on FB in a group we are in is someone I became intrigued with. We connected over music and the infatuation came into play. He calls me beautiful, lovely lady, pretty, from time to time. However, he never initiates conversation through messenger. But he checked up on me when I was sick to see how I was and he was super kind and courteous, then he ghosted after that and didn't reach out anymore. He'll comment on my posts and like my posts, and never makes me wait to respond. He responds lightening fast, but he never initiates contact, or tries to really really get to know me. The most he said was "I'd be stoked to meet you." He lives on the west coast and I live on the east coast. He just called me "homie" tonight. So, is this a case of me being friend zoned and him not liking me that way? Because I really connected to him, and I guess it's one sided.

Just sounds shy but if he keeps trying to message you I would assume he wants to see if you would be interested.
