How to know if you're attractive?

Because I'm the quiet guy who doesn't talk to girls so they don't approach me but I knew one had a crush on me and I thought she was pretty hot but didn't ask her out as I was too shy

Shy or not shy you can determine how attractive you are by the body language of the people around you. Words can lie but bodies don't lie. More specifically eyes don't lie. Just like guys check attractive girls out girls check attractive guys out. Another way to tell is a bit more tricky but with practice this will be easy to notice. When you are close enough to a girl (physically like she's standing close to you). Take note of her pupils. If they dilate then she finds you physically appealing. Instinctually our bodies will open the pupils more to allow us to take in more of the beauty in front of us. We cannot control it. Noticing this takes practice however cause you need to know how dialated the pupils should be based off the lighting in the room and the person. If this is too difficult look at their stance. Playing with hair, shifting it to one side in order to show some neck, smiling, open body language, etc. All show either an interest or physical attraction.

Don't know about for guys but according to a comedian I saw a girl can tell if she is hot by going up to a guys she thinks is cute and punching him in the face. If he hits her back. Not hot. If he recovers and continues to demonstrate to her the correct way to punch on somebody else. She's hot.

You either look in the mirror and like yourself or don't. Shake off the shy thing -- there are workshops to help with this.

You know you're attractive through confidence and gauging the reactions of others. Beauty is mathematical, really. You can generally judge where you are in attractiveness. Remember that confidence is more important. You may very well be good-looking but since you're shy, no one lets you know.

Do you get a lot of attention? That's a sign. If you feel that people look at you  a lot, that's another sign. You can always make a survey. Ask random people on a site maybe if you are attractive, although cliche, but it works.
