Some people may, indeed, age like fine wine, but I’ve known others who have left it in the bottle too long, and have turned to vinegar.


However, when it comes to the quote I think it’s experience because like wine the person becomes better at dealing with people and situations. They become more relatable, accepting of situations and understand things better because they have had time to work on themselves, learn a lot and become more palatable with others just like the wine sitting in the cellar for years.

Some guys definitely don't age like wine. Youth has its own rights. But some actually look very attractive being older. That's because they look more masculinely than younger ones and this is linked to that I may feel more protected and I can trust them, because they are experienced. I think it's possible that guys attractiveness peaks later than women's like maybe women peak at 21 and men peak at 25 or so but the notion that a guy is more physically attractive at 40 than at 20 is ridiculous. Also receeding hairlines/baldness really fucks us over so until that is cured women probably age better than we do.

The only advantage men have is that they can sometimes offset what they lose in appearance with status.

And I do think women always tend to prefer a man around their own age who is very mature. I agree with you on that.

The reason I'm being selected is because I can't tell very well what makes a man physically attractive. So if he ages better or not, I can't personally comment. I'll have to trust the average experience of women.

In terms of their sexual marketplace value, which I know is something I brought up, men do age better as they get older. And I don't think this is due to stupidity or even a change in their own morals. I think it's due to biology. Because it has been true from antiquity

I've never seen any study that shows that the good woman were already taken and so the older men were just getting the leftovers. In fact, I've seen studies that counteract that position.

And yes, women do initiate much more divorce these days. But in a time of great economic prosperity and no fault divorce, it makes it much easier for them. Neither of those conditions have been true for very long, only a few decades. And my understanding is that historically women did not initiate divorces in larger numbers than men
