Should I propose my crush tomorrow?

I've known my crush since last year and liked him. But he's pretty distant. Sometimes he talks to me and sometimes he ignores me. It makes me feel like to move on from that crush but something makes me hold on thinking he might see me as his girlfriend someday. It is getting frustrating. I feel like to propose, if he likes me he'll say yes but he if rejects, I can move on. Is it a bad idea?
