If I apologize to someone, and they respond “I appreciate your apology”, does that mean that they forgive me?

It's a little strange... But I don't think you can feel comfortable with that. Because they very well could appreciate your willingness and ability to apologize but not forgive you still so it's tricky.. you could even ask, unless it's not worth it to you, to bring it up, "so do you forgive me" then they can't dance around and they have to give you the answer you are looking for

Know that means they're rubbing it in your nose I accept your apology you were wrong it really doesn't matter how they said what to do is that moment when you're apologizing it's about you and how you feel and how you took initiative to be the bigger person and admit that you were wrong are they you are not right as long as you get that out of your system that's all that really matters it doesn't matter if they apologize back or if they say they're sorry I mean it would be nice but that's not what it's about it's about you clear your conscience and you doing the right thing
