Why do guys desire more traditional non working housewives?

Given the cost of living and the like I just dont quite understand it bar from it being the old norm

My wife is a teacher while I am a stay-at-home father. Sure we don't live in a huge house with six bedrooms and five baths, but we make it work. Plus we don't live paycheck to paycheck. It's a tough choice and I understand the appeal of a house with room to spare.

Yet we save money and don't even have a TV with cable or anything. Our screen time is limited and our kids find plenty to do one their own. However, I do understand the appeal of a screen because it does babysit the kids for a given period of time.

Plus there is something to be said about what women naturally do. When a couple has a child together, the woman gets pregnant. That is simple mammalian biology. Plus women are naturally kind, sweet and caring. Sure men and women can do many of the same things, but we must look at how many women are in construction? How many women even make it through the training of special forces? Hell, how many women are avid and successful bow hunters every years throughout their lives (by the way I know two that hunted when they were in high school, but they don't now)?

My post wasn't intended to be. offensive to anyone, I was just trying to show we all have traits that make us different, nothing more.

Some men just want someone to look at when they get back home, they know they have a wife who has clean and cook for them, they have something to look forward to when coming home. They know their not alone anymore. They want a wife who stays home so that they can work more, do more. They feel like if a woman stays home and does all the chores their, I could work more, try to make more so I can spend more on her and therefore make her happier because I no longer have another task I have to worry about. Personally if I ever felt like I wanted a house wife, I ask her to learn how to manage money so I can make it easier with her help. If her and me invest, than we earn more in a few years depending on the type of investment and what it is. Also no man wants a slave, there boring and usually just sad. Men want a wife so that they can push some, not all of the burdens on to someone else so they can make their lives better for not just him but for her. Marriage is about pushing burdens onto someone else in material reasons. How do you expect to raise kids but no one be at the house. You gonna hire a baby sitter, ask your granny to teach them, feed them, bath them. You might as well not be a parent if you wanna do that.

A lot of guys need an excuse to get out of doing the cooking, cleaning, and actually taking care of their kids.
Some think women are less likely to cheat while at home. (Which is silly because every woman has a cute neighbor or ups guy she could easily get with while husband is at work)
Some guys were just raised to be the protectors and providers and they think that’s how things should be.

There are a few reasons:
1. We don't want a coworker or colleague, what we want is a partner who we know will be committed to being with us. Career women are operating from a place of fear of being vulnerable, and that's not conducive to building trust. We don't view women as providers, we just don't. What is money to someone who already has money?

2. Having two parent households with one parent raising the children leads to the best outcomes for children.

3. We don't want to be in competition with our S. O. s. If you make your own money, specifically if you make more money than us, it ALWAYS leads to conflict in the house. The woman wonders if she could have landed a better man. She wishes she could spend more time with her kids, etc... Women initiate 80% of divorces. We can avoid the money issue in part by not mating with a woman who is likely to bring it up.

I don't really like too many things that are traditional I like new but I like that I have a new book on everything to and I think a girl should be able to do what she wants to do if she wants to work she can work if she wants to not work she doesn't have to work

Because they want to be the breadwinner and not have to cook or clean anything themselves. Basically it’s to stroke their ego and be lazy after work.

And as for on here I think it’s largely about insecurity

being lady in her 30s, I can understand a need for a home for a child to come to. work takes up from 7 am to like 6 pm, there is not much time for chores and for family nowadays

All else equal more money is nice. But it's not the be all end all, so either one can work (working or non-working).

Because we find it attractive to see the feminine and nurturing qualities in our partners. It's really lovely

If she wants to work she is free but. I prefer her to stay at home until kids grow then it's up to her

It's a preference, Just as some women prefer to work, some men prefer their woman not to work.

The cost is probably only higher because so many women work in the first place. If women didn't enter the workforce, then wages would be higher.
