Why do guys act careless when they like you?

My guy friend and I are both interested in each other but he tries to hide it when it’s obvious he wants me, but sometimes he acts careless or he doesn’t have feelings.

Why he can’t just come forward and be honest about it without hiding? The mixed signals makes me nervous

I’d rather he show me than hide it and give out mixed feelings. I’ve already told him how I felt but he still acts careless. Which is why I prefer the guy to show some type of effort at least so I don’t assume he hates me

Well I’ve only texted him about it because he’s usually always around his nosey friends so I had waited until he went home. In person it was basically confusing because he acts like he doesn’t care but still stares at me from afar.

Don't put any value on staring, it means almost nothing. I don't see what you are bothering for at this point. He doesn't seem interested to me.

Well explain why his friends and even my own cousin who knows him all told me that he likes me? When I explain it to them they say he’s just shy. But yeah whatever then I guess 🤨

He flirts, he helps me out a lot, I catch him checking me out (staring), and he always sits near me. He even bought the Nintendo Switch so we could play games together.
