Why would a Guy act indifferent if he likes you?

At the beginning of the year I had a class with a guy. I noticed he would turn around and glance at me really, really fast, then look forward again. He'd do it like 25 times a class, no joke.

I had to present a paper and pass out some cookie models, when I offered him one he had his arms crossed, looked down, and just shook his head no.

When he would be by me he just acted indifferent. I'd never really spoken to him before and I honestly thought he must dislike me or something.

Then one of his friends accidentally gave it away that he likes me. He still acts weird to me though. Why can't he just smile?

Everyone is different. Maybe he just never felt like that for a girl before. And doesn't know what to do to. The best thing you can do is just talk to him. Go up to him and tell him "Hey do you mind if you and I talk a bit? I have always gotten a feeling that you were annoyed by me or disliked me, If I did something to offend then would you please tell me what it is? Because I didn't mean to." The last part is important because he wouldn't really feel attacked or cornered so he will be more open to you.

Do you like him? Or are you interested in him? If you are then do that.

If not. Then why worry yourself? Its not your loss. :]

It's one of those situations where you never noticed them before until you found out they liked you. So I don't know if I really like him Thanks for the advice, though!

that would be in response to common female logic. coming from instinct, women like to choose their man, then acquire said man. if a man shows too much interest, the woman is no longer choosing him, and loses any interest.

He's probably shy and used to hiding his feelings towards someone he likes. (im speaking from experience) My crush actually told me (after I told him I would go out with him) that I act like I didn't like him, which was the furtherest thing from the truth. So your guy is just scared to show interest until he knows that you like him, too. I say be more friendly towards him and maybe he'll come out of this
