Guys: why some guys act indifferent?

So there is a guy I don’t know who he is, I see him everyday. I’ve noticed he is always looking at me and checking me out. In a few occasions I’ve greeted him but his reaction was very cold distant. I noticed that he keeps looking at me though but when he sees I notice his presence, he turns his back and starts acting indifferent. I thought maybe he is shy or he probably has a girlfriend or even married, so I tried not looking or talking to him anymore. But then he continues looking at me and then acting indifferent. So why, why guys act this way?

He is attracted to you. He keeps looking at you. He is probably afraid of seeming too needy or desperate.

Well, they either genuinely don't care because something else has their attention, or they are pretending not to care so that they avoid scaring off the woman.

Because they are stupid and do not know how to form relationships in a standard... and meaningful way. That's my opinion...
