Guys, what makes you infatuated with a particular girl?

So, there's no getting past the fact that we have to be attracted to the way she looks. Now, this does NOT mean she needs to be some spectacular 9.5+ - most men aren't nearly that picky - but we do have to find her physically attractive. Plenty of men are fine with a girl they consider a 5/10, so, again, this isn't the incredibly high hurdle that a lot of women imagine.

Looks aren't the whole picture though. Looks may bring initial attraction - and perhaps even lust - but that doesn't mean we have any feelings for HER as a person. In order to have that, we have to like her personality and attitude. We'll look at her body language - does she smile and laugh freely? Does she seem happy by default? - and different guys will like different personality traits. Some guys will dig shy girls, others will be into dominant girls, and some into really outgoing girls - but probably the most popular "general" personality trait that guys like is a girl who is positive and peaceful; a girl who looks at things on the bright side most of the time, and who brings calm into his life, rather than a girl who is into gossip and drama - things most men avoid.

There's always an intangible factor as well. For any guy, there will be a few girls who just "click" with him, even if she isn't necessarily his normal "type" - and usually the guy can't say what it is, but he knows he feels a strong pull towards a particular girl that he almost never feels for other girls. This is rare, but almost all guys have experienced it at least once or twice in their life.

I don't want to underplay the importance of a positive personality, at least for most men. Yes, it's a generalization, and yes there are men who thrive on drama and chaos, but they're the exception. Most men want a woman who is inherently happy and positive (sure, we all have our negative moments, but a lot of people are unhappy 24/7), and who brings peace and relaxation into his life, rather than drama and conflict and arguments. A positive, peaceful woman is SO much more attractive to most men that, for any serious relationship, most men would take a 5/10 in physical looks girl with great personality than an 8/10 looks girl who brings conflict and chaos, so keep in mind what a huge factor that can be when attracting a man...
