Guys, Is it possible that a grown man who is kinda shy and introvent would be too shy/nervous to initiate conversations on instagram with a girl?

That's what shy means, so yes it's possible. There are guys who are so shy that if you jumped on their lap and started kissing them all over, they'd freeze. They'd be so far out of their comfort zone that they'd look for any way to escape, including lying and saying they don't want you (even if they really do).

Don't underestimate what shyness can do.

Whether it's online or in person, if you are interested in someone, then initiate things. If you wait around for the other person to do it, you could be waiting forever and end up alone.

I have no way of knowing that. Viewing your stories and doing it so quickly might mean something if he doesn't do that with anyone else. It's usually a good indicator if he treats you differently than he treats others. I don't know anything about Instagram and don't know if there is any way to know how he acts around others.

Ultimately you need to move the conversation in a more personal direction and see if there is any romantic feeling.

It's not desperate at all. One of you needs to move things forward. It's not desperate for either one of you. Having an interest in someone, and moving it forward is far than that being desperate. If nobody moves it forward, then couples would never happen.

The same could be asked of you. If you are interested, wouldn't that mean you do it? If anything is going to happen, somebody has to do it. You don't have any control over him doing it. But you do have control over you doing it.
