I work at a company and a big spider was on the break room table I asked the bosses son who was walking by it he would kill it, he said eeew thats a big spider and walked away, then turned around and asked oh did you want me to kill it, and snickered. He then came over and killed it, asked me for a napkin, I handed it to him and he slightly grabbed my hand, picked up the dead spider and threw it away, and smiled. Was he flirting or am I taking it wrong?

When he walked away he kept looking back at me smiling and them asked oh did you want me to kill it I said yeah he said okay checking me out up and down smiling. Why would he walk away and then turn back around smiling asking... oh did you want me to kill it?

Definitely could be but most likely it's just a friendly thing. Though if you like him then you can flirt with him, just make it workplace appropriate and be open to him not realising or even rejecting you. Otherwise first reason is very true. I involuntarily become brave enough when I'm with a woman and she needs help. I may not kill the spider if I'm alone.. but since a woman is there it comes naturally.. most likely that's why he "hesitated" and the smile is part of the awkwardness to cover his fear or laziness to deal with the spider.
