Guys, What does a hug and then holding my hand mean?

Hi I have an ex coworker that i am confused by his behaviour. He is a very caring guy. I adore him. Any girl would want a guy like him. The day he left the job we were both sad. He hugged me a few times and each time after the hug he took my hands in hus while we continued talking. We speak often since he left. The other day we met at a wedding and after he hugged me goodbye he took my hand in his while he walked away until he couldnt anymore. I watched to see if he does the same with other girls after a goodbye hug and he doesn't. I went away on vacation and he text me to have a safe drive and we messaged the whole day. He is a gentleman and a very caring guy. So dont know what his actions might mean.

Maybe he is attracted to you and is trying to take it to second base but is shy this all depends on what both of your ages are also there are guys my age 53 who can be real shy and one of them happens to be me that is a good sign if he text messages you but you want to be sure this guy has no strings attached to momma with babies deal if he does maybe he's divorce or separated got ask questions?
