This is the haka, which is a traditional/ceremonial dance that has its origins within the Maori.

Done for a number of reasons, one of which was in preparation/start of war or battle.

This post was meant to be joking/humorous in nature, but it’s also to showcase the impact it as on those observing this.

High school kids performing this dance has a profound impact on me, so I can’t imagine what this would look like if it was with actual Maori warriors.

Depending on the mood in which it is delivered it is either a challenge or a celebration, Here it is a profound sign of respect for the teacher who is retiring.
