Why do men, who are only interested in casually hooking up, get upset when women cancel?

I’ve been seeing a guy for about 2 years now. We meet up and hook up several times throughout the year (he lives in another state). I canceled our last meet up and he ends our casual link up. He was clearly upset even though he denied it. Why is he getting upset when I cancel but also states he doesn’t want a relationship.

I’m not surprised that he got frustrated over the change in plans. Imagine the care you take for a date or knowing you’re going to have sex, the primping, extra time at the gym. There may have been a lot of buildup (mental and physical) and excitement. I’ve never had a casual hookup but I think I’d take extra care if I knew I was going to have sex.


What I don’t understand is him cutting things off completely. Maybe if you had done it multiple times to him, I can understand that.

Yeah. I partially understand it can be frustrating to the person on the other end. After denying any type of feelings for me, why get upset?

I think it’s still just the time invested in the process. Regardless of feelings towards you, there are still feelings involved.

Because they missed out on having sex. Guys always get pissed off about that!

Same reason why women get upset on the same circumstances, and both get upset if things are cancelled and they want something serious.
