He sent me a birthday wish after long time of no talking. Now he’s actively updating his instagram stories again. Is he hoping that I reach out?

months ago I did initiate conversation with him by replying to his stories and he did like to talk to me. I then got frustrated and didn't initiate contact with him and neither did he either. Now after months he came to wish a happy birthday to me…

After he congratulated me I just replied thanks to him with a smiley. We haven’t talked after that lol.

For months he didn’t update his story at all or he updated very rarely. After he sent me the birthday wishes now he’s actively updating his story again :D

Not trying to poo on the parade, but I feel like you’re overthinking this a bit. When he wished you a happy birthday, it just seems like a kind gesture to do, especially if you normally remember eachothers birthdays and you are also friends on social media. If he wanted the conversation to extend past your thanks, I believe it would’ve. But he didn’t take it there and I think that says a lot. As far as him posting more on IG, I don't know him personally but I feel like it’s not relevant. He watches your stories, just as people who are very active on that app do. So like I said, not trying to squash your hopes because I can be 100% wrong. This just doesn’t seem like enough to go off of. BUT regardless of all this, if you are interested in him then why don’t you be the one to make a move? I mean we could try and decode his actions all day but no amount of speculation is fact and you seem to want clarity. If you can’t be direct, it’s not worth wondering about.

U can try comment on stories as direct message would seem too much. Cus birthday wishing is something u can do just to be polite. Comment seems to be better approach then see if he replies.

In the past when I commented on his stories he seemed to like talking to me. He always replied to my texts. So far he has reacted 3 times to my life events. He has congratulated me when I graduted and when I got a new job. The thing we don’t know each other well at all.
