Is it just me or was I right to be offended?

So yesterday I was at a rave. I later joined a group of guys that were sitting on the grass and chatted with them. One of the guys was one of those nerdy guys who give off the impression that they think they know more than you. We were talking about what we work with etc. And then we switched the subject to how fun this rave is. So obviously when I talk about more fun stuff, I smile more. Im someone who smiles with my eyes as well. This guy says "keep genuine eyes" when I start smiling. And im like "What?". and he says "I notice when you talk about work etc. you have a kind of cold expression, now you're smiling with your eyes, keep genuine eyes". AND i just laugh it off and im like "hahah yeah". but then everytime i smile after that, he says "genuine eyes". And reminds me to keep on smiling. I was actually super offended but didn't show it. I know that Im the kind of person who looks like a 10 when I smile but very average when I dont, which is why this offended me a lot.

What kind of person doesn't know that this isn't something you tell someone? I dont know if its just me but the comments he made are clearly super offensive...
