Was I wrong for being offended?

I have never worked a single job for money, I always worked because I enjoyed working and I did not go to school to upgrade my pay cheque, I studied because I loved reading books and taking tests and watching videos on culture. So a girl told me she thought I should return to my low paying job since I need spending money. I was offended she thought I was too dumb to work a high paying job. I know plenty of ways to make money such as dating coach, match maker, psychic etc… I choose to work to serve society / God and if I wanted to make 90 times more than my old pay cheque, there would have been a way for me to do that. Legally, not selling drugs, which actually doesn’t pay as much as other high profile jobs.

Whenever I faced situations like what you wrote, I'll ask myself: Does so and so fed me? Or pay for my rent and bills?

If the answers are no, then I'll say (silently to myself) "Fuck it! Mind your own business".

Life gets a little easier when we know that whatever the person said is of no consequence because they were not there when we needed support.
