Guys, Why do men lie about their height on dating sites?

I know that some men are insecure about their height, but why lie if the truth will be revealed when he goes on a date? I went on a date with this guy who claimed to be 6ft2 but was actually 5ft8. He accused ME (I’m 5ft10) of lying about my height when I didn’t. Another guy I knew was 5ft6 but wrote that he was 5ft9 on his dating profile. So, why?

Because they don't think they will attract any women if they are honest. I don't get it either. Once you meet in person the whole thing falls apart anyway.

Bcz girls like tall guys, so guys try to impress them, it is like when girls improve their pics to look prettier, but they never look like their pics in real life.

The same reason women lie about their weight and age, to say nothing of makeup... conservation of energy allows them to continue on because finding someone new is extra work.
