I always say, you’ve got to subtract two inches from the guys supposed height to get accuracy.

Because most women are shallow and do stupid things to put down a man. Many of these women wants taller guys beyond their capacity because they assume that taller men have bigger penises. Besides felling pressured by other girls who are toxic. Sorry for your innocent ears and eyes, but you have to know the truth about this nonsense. Can't blame some of these guys for thinking this way. But mostly, these guys have bad self-esteem issues and is desperate for female attention. Overall you don't want to deal with a lair about their physical traits. Not that it really matters, but it's unnecessary that people take it to the point of disrespecting men because of his height.
Wow I love your answer!!! It's right on point!!! What I never understood about women like that is have they not seen themselves in the mirror? Just because they say they want 6'0+ doesn't mean they're going to get it. What if that 6'0+ guy finds faults with that woman like her weight what if she isn't skinny enough or her boobs aren't big enough for him or her was ain't thick enough for him. I never understood why women put that kind of nonsense pressure on a guy something he can not control and is a result of genetics. No one is going to be 100% perfect for somebody else everybody has flaws and accepting those flaws makes a person a better person but those type of women don't seem to understand that. Any guy that is subjected to that nonsense is better off without her because with that type of mentality it's the type that will bail when the going gets tough
Too many guys want to present themselves as being better than they are. It's overcompensating for their lack of self-esteem (as it says in free-ebooks' "Are Men the Weaker Sex").
But as you said, we can see how tall they are so it's a waste of time to lie. (I've heard a lot of guys lie about how large their penis is, also. But again, if we see it, we'll know how large it is.)
And personally, it doesn't matter what a guy looks like - it's whether he's an honest person or not that matters to me (and whether he's trustworthy. We don't know how trustworthy a person is if he lies when he doesn't need to.)
Probably the same reason women do it, but girls are just better at lying about it most of the time as they usually just add an inch or two at most. Usually most of the time why a guy would I guess would be because being tall is attractive and them doing it is a way to try to seem more attractive. Although it doesn't really make that sense as they're just focusing on the number when really you can't lie about your height in real life. It's easy to tell if you're that height you say you are by just standing next to that person. A lot of guys do it at my school and I find it amusing. They'll be like 5'10, yet they say they're 6'0, but you can tell they're lying.
Because women typically require in most dating apps / websites set preferences for men above a certain height. This causes a challenge with shorter men getting not included in the search filters. I would never lie about my height because at some point if you meet the other person , then you already started off a potentially great relationship with a lie. It is really a problem emanating from both sides if you ask me, women these days need to realize their prince charming, the one that will treat them well and never hurt them, might be shorter than some insignificant height preferences, and men in counter should always tell the truth or they are douche bags.

The same reason will lie about how much they weigh: they fear judgment and rejection. Many people will be quick to cut someone off for not being "tall enough."
It's still dumb to lie, but I can see why some people feel like they have to.
Never lied about my height of 5' 8" because if I ever met a girl that cared about that and saw I wasn't she probably wouldn't want to date because she knew I lied to get a chance and prove there's more to me than something out of my control, but it's a double standard. If women want a guy who is at least 6', ok, then have your most up to date looks in profile pics and a weight to go beside it if you want to play that game.
Bottom line, I don't bother with women that want guys at a height taller than me, because that says to me that if you won't give a guy under that height a chance, you probably aren't worth it to begin with over something that is out of my control. It disqualifies a lot of men that could potentially be the guy you want. No matter how good looking you are.
Standards are fine, but even I am flexible with women. Hell, I even consider women taller than me despite the teasing stigma that can come with it.
for the same reasons why women lie about their weight or body count or they use out of date profile photos. lying is often used to get more matches and display a mythical version of themselves that is more desirable in the eyes of suitors than their real selves which turns out to be turn in most cases.
pointing at the liar is one thing but it also says something about the person who fell for the lie. its easy to shame someone for putting out false information but would've you have looked his way if it weren't for this information? would you have truly given him a chance had he told the truth that he really was 5'9 or lower as opposed to 6'4 or higher? anyone can say yes they would but words are cheaper and actions speak louder than words. lying never ok but there's a reason it happens.
I’ve never really thought about men’s height when dating. Most men are taller than me at 5’7.5”. Even when I wear heels. I was pursued by a guy probably an inch or two shorter than I and I didn’t think anything of it. He got the same chance but it didn’t work out as he has a temper and badmouthed exes... I’m not signing up for that. We all have these ideal standards in our heads when we are single and some adhere to them when dating and miss out on some wonderful people. Others tend to forget about those standards because they give into chemistry and feelings and end up in great relationships even tho their SO is nothing like their imaginary standards. Which is why we have that saying of opposites attract.
I'm sure on here some of them lie. Probably because they see others that actually are tall so they lie to over compensate, but yeah, like you said as soon as they meet someone in person it would be very obvious. It's the same thing if you ask them how much weight they can lift/carry. I've never met a guy yet IRL that told the truth of how much he could lift. Whenever I brought them over to see what they could really do they had always greatly exaggerated. I'm sure it is the same with a lot of them online when it comes to their supposed height.
I had a guy once tell me he was 5'9 when I met him in person he was the same height as me and I am 5'1 I assumed he lied about his height because he was thinking I wouldn't give him a chance I did give him a chance but I just couldn't get past the fact that he had lied to me after I had told him I don't like people who lie to me if you lie to me just one time I lose all trust in you right away and you never get that trust back
Can downvote me all you wans jerks if you lie to me no way in hell am I gonna give you a chance I was lied to badly in the past and it pushed me to the point I almost committed suicide do you think I wanna put myself in that position again no I don't
Because a vast majority of women want a "tall man", or at least a man taller than them.
It's seen as emasculating to be short. Generally the thresh-hold is 6' to be considered a round about height for most women to be attracted to.
Women like taller men, that's a fact. Men who like women want to attract those women, so they'll lie to try and have a CHANCE without her rejecting him based on something he can't change.
The fact that you prioritise height over his career, physique, personality or intelligence is annoying and stupid enough already. Even if YOU don't, about 80% of women actually do that. Which, without a doubt is a toxic and narrow-minded behaviour. Besides, I've seen my friends that are barely 5'6" - 5'8" getting more and better women than my 6'2+" friends (most of them basically have 0 relationship experience. I think now you can imagine how much does height actually contributes when it comes to a healthy relationship) so I don't really think height is actually a relevant attribute to judge someone's worth on. What's most concerning is guys who lie about anything about themselves aren't really worth your time. That makes him distrustful and insecure so I think any woman is right to be angry about it. If he can't trust you with the truth then the relationship should be avoided at all cost.
Men lie because there is a stigma to being short. The average man in the U. S. in early 1900s was 5'6". Now that would be considered short. My dad was that height as well as my ex. Men lie because they get embarrassed or in some cases they lie for their careers like in the Asian entertainment business.
So wait, you're freaking out that a 6'2" man said he was 6'4"? More importantly, why friendzone dudes gotta throw their whole gender under the bus just to get giggle-girl points? dude is 50lbs away from writing poetry and talking through your relationship problems about another dude
Women lie too in places where height is sought after.
Hollywood. The celebrity heights are with heels for both genders. They are rarely going to not be two to three or even four inches ( J law lol 🤦♀️) then their claimed height.. Unless the woman is actually 5 ft 9 and the guy is actually over 6 feet. They add heels 🤦♀️
Probably because the emphasis that a lot of women put on men's height for attraction. I personally don't see the appeal of having a man over 6 feet because I look like a dwarf compared to him. It's insecurity and they feel that an unchangeable characteristic weeds them out of the dating pool.
Because some women are EXTREMELY judgmental about it, and some people have low self esteem. So some men haven't realized that girls that say "anyone under 6 feet don't bother replying" aren't worth their time anyway and they will instead lie. Or they're out for flings, think "nothing to lose" because any shot not taken is a shot missed.
Height is important to women and they want to seem more desirable. Of course women will notice if they’re significantly shorter than they said they are online but if they lie on their profile they hope a woman will at least starting talking to them and show up to the date.
It isn't so much that we want to be tall.
We want what we want which is to be wanted by women.
For SOME men, they need to be taller than their women but for most men, that's not a huge issue.
We just want to be loved and being taller helps attract women because, to them, a man's height IS a bigger factor than it is for us.
It has to do with optics and style
Women at 5'9' are considered tall
Men at 5'9" are either average or short,
Add hair and heels and you can easily add 2-4 inches onto a girl
Then when they stand side by side its expected men be taller, when theyre the same height or appear shorter due to heels and hair its easy to label them as short guys and then the preconceived notion takes full effect
I wouldn't know as i am, in fact, 6'4". My height has never in my life helped my social life, it has however made finding affordable and well fitting clothes a pain, made sex awkward due to the size differences, made walking through doors and stretching in rooms a dubious proposition at best. I generally have not enjoyed being tall. If i could be 5'11" our had a world where my size was accommodated for ide take it in a heart beat.
Why do women lie about EVERYTHING?
They lie about their weight, they lie about their looks (with makeup on in EVERY pic, or surgery, or heels or pushup bras, etc..), etc?
Women even lie about what they're looking for. Dudes lying about height isn't good either, but let's be real, women are a WALKING LIE.
Incel much?
@Smiley_face101 Do you see my picture? I've fucked over a thousand b! tches.
There is more to it then looks 🤷♀️
I dont know do they?
I've always put my real height on it.
I'm 5'8" so not really tall for a guy. I think its the ideal height. Im never too tall for any rides in the theme parcs. Also with small cars I dont. hit the roof. My brother does but he's 6'2".
Me and my boy have convinced plenty of "I only date guys who are 6 foot" that my bois is 6". his ass is 5'9" it's really not that hard. I mean sh***t I've been convincing those same girls I'm 6'3"( to make the measurements line up). Girls can only tell when you're lying when they're near your height, or you're with somebody they know and compare. a chick that like 5'-5'3" can't tell your 5'9"-5'10" ass ain't 6 foot haha it's science. them bois just trynna get their play
Because all we ever hear is that women ONLY want tall men. A lot of women even go so far as to say it's a "deal breaker"! So guys might lye so the women will actually meet them maybe and give them a chance by getting to know them a little first, before automatically writing them off. Just my thoughts on why, I don't do this myself. If you're going to write me off that easily and quickly, I'm better off without you is my personal view lol.
Why do women lie about their weight so much, I know women want to not be fat, that’s understandable. Lying about your weight however is just : ugh... WE CAN SEE YOU!! We can see exactly how not under 200lbs you really are!!!
I always say, you’ve got to add 60lbs to a girl's supposed weight to get accuracy.
As you said, they want to be taller and appeal to women. Some women lie about their height too which is weird to me.
No they tend to lie about their weight more and the fact their taken Just to get an ego boost when they're current relationship is going south on a downfall
The same reason why women wear makeup. It gives them a better chance at not getting rejected 😂😂.
Personally I don’t lie about my height. No point and there’s no shame in my game.
Why do women lie about their cock count? We all know that to get a woman's true number you have to multiply whatever number she admits to by at least 3 and more likely five. And adding BJ's means you have to multiply her admitted number by at least 10.
Never knew guys lied about their height but I imagine its the same reason why women lie about their weight even though we can see how fat they are (your not curvy, your not size "cuddly" your fat).
LOL funny meme. I'm 5'10, so when I caught on that a lot of guys weren't honest about their height online, I just assumed 5'9 guys were actually more like 5'7.
A lot of women nowadays expressively say they won't date a guy below 6'0. Women aren't the only ones with societal pressure. I've never lied about my height, but not everyone are secure and content in their appearance.
Probably because men tend to feel more manly if they are taller, and they also want to impress the girls. Of course, it difficult to fake height when seeing someone in person!
you do not know that men want to be tall for you do not know all men ! I know of a man who is 6 ^ 4 tall ! I do not think he likes it either but he is the way he is ! Thanks
because way too many girls post crap like "only interested in guys over 6 foot tall". Guys will lie about that just to "get their foot in the door", and then hope that the girl ends up liking them for who they are, and not worry so much about his lack of height.
Simply because they wanna be an acceptable dude for women.. They are simply insecure with they height because society cast a beauty standard on men also..
Why would it even matter so much, ok so he's 2 inches shorter,, ya then? lol... do you all of sudden dont like him anymore?
Some men are so used to lying, that it's second nature to them.
They lie when they don't need to (or when it's so obvious to the other person that they're lying). Old habits are hard to break, I guess.
Men don’t lie part from the asshole guys. That only care about scoring girls. Other guys could also has a learning disabilities.
Guys that are 6ft are the most desirable to us women. Lile in 4'10ft and I'm only attracted to 6ft guys.
I'm 5'11" I think. Might be 6' by now since I haven't looked at my height for 6 months. I've never really had to lie about my height.
Well can you women step on a scale so we see how much you weigh. Because when you claim you're 125 to 130 what you really mean is 140-150 possibly 155 or fatter. Take a picture of your scale with the numbers on it and don't photoshop it either
Next time take a picture of yourselves standing on a scale so we see how fat you really are
I'm 119 and I'm fat 😭
How to delete a comment?
@Justbeyouandbehappy_ 118 isn't fat far from it
@Justbeyouandbehappy_ I was only making those comments because the thread owner was being shallow especially for her age which isn't good
Same reason women lie about their weight, age, sexual partners, use makeup, and do the vast majority of plastic surgery.
I haven't known women to lie about thier height but I have known men to. I think women that are tall are a smaller group so it seems exaggerated
I agree I lie about my age. But all i said was I dont think I have experienced a girl lying about her height. And I'm not sure why h lying on any of these topics is more right or wrong. None of the numbers reall matters anyway. But if it bothers you there are plenty of women who dont lie about it. I personally dont like are what they say thier height is I judge for myself when I meet them
I'm not picking sides or trying to be a smart a** but I have seen a documentary where a girl wanted a boy she liked to ask her out to prom and she was very subconscious of her height because she was like 6'7 or something and I think she may have downsized it a little because she was scared she was too tall for him even though she had nothing wrong with her. I think the human ego is a very complicated touchy subject us as humans will never fully comprehend.
Also I totally agree that none of it really matters. I think what really matters is helping people and being understanding and spreading love and positively affect as many people as we all can
I don't lie about my height, I'm 5'9", that's how tall I am. If I was going to lie, I'd at least say I'm tall and not slightly below average, like I am.
Who’s counting those last couple inches? is she gunna bust out the tape? Might as well measure the junk too while she’s at it.
No.
Most likely she’s measuring his wallet
i never lied about this, i dont see the point, girls care more about ur looks and personality, they dont give a shit bout how tall u are... so i always honest and say 6ft exactly
Because you all discriminate against short men so much. Why the fuck do women lie about their age so much?
I'm ACTUALLY 6'4" and I've seen how women, especially short women, basically melt around tall men.
They just simply feel more comfortable lieing? I don't know why people do the things they do but that is the only explanation
Simple short guys get generally hated and discriminated by both women and Men.
Men might lie about their overall height but they lie about a certain "height" far more often.
Men are swine. Complain in church.
Why do women lie about their weight and age so much? For all it is because that is what they think the other desires.
Probably because women have placed such a high value on how tall a guy is recently, they fear being short will make them unattractive
Never consciously lied about height. But may have shrunk in recent years from a sedentary lifestyle. Hadn't considered that.
Because women tend to find taller men attractive, so the guy wants her to think he is a little bit more desirable.
Because women worship height, they treat it like idolatry. It goes beyond simple attraction, it means everything to them.
Women are corrupt, superficial, and soulless creatures.
Because Women want lucifer - 6 pack, 6 ft, 6 fig. Many profiles put there that specifically say no one under 6ft.
It’s because they simply want a chance of not being discriminated against.
Women at that height tend to lie about it too. A 5'10" is going to say she's 5'9" and a 5'8" man will say he's 5'9" and then BAM there is a huge difference! Lol
Never lied about my height but some men add an inch or so because most women can't tell the difference
If you are 5'11 its easy to say 6ft and nobody would be none the wiser
I don't fucking know what my height is!!!
My school always said 6'2", the doctors said 6' wtf am I?
You are 6'1
For the same reason women lie about their age! vanity
We aren't used to seeing women who are that tall. so they appear taller.
Most people stretch out the truth even in sports about the height but I'm over 6 feet tall and that's how it is
They have on heels to make them look taller and butts look bigger. That’s what heels were made for.
Plus someone women think they’re gods gift to the earth 🤣 So can’t give an answer to that one
