Yeah it's a pretty dumb thing to lie about because it's obvious
Stupidity - people can tell roughly how tall they are just by looking at them.

I don't know why they should lie to begin with. Being short isn't a problem.
I'm not lying I am pretty much 5'4". I want a girl who can deal with my height, so I don't want to lie.
Men don't lie about their height so much. Women are just obsessed over it and think anyone under 8 feet tall is a midget.
Men almost never lie about their age in excess of 1 or possibly 2 inches. We are not that stupid.

They are ashamed of being short. I'm 5'4" and don't lie about it. Most men who say they are 5'4" are likely 5'1" or 5'2" though.

Height and weight aren't comparable, nor do women even have to lie about their weight anymore. Obese women have more access to mates than a 8/10 guy does.
