Why does he act interested one day but not the next?

So, I met this guy last weekend. That night I was at his house and he kept saying how he hadn’t met someone like me and how pretty and perfect of a girl I was. He said he loved my eyes and my laugh. He also said that he wanted to take me out on a date, but that never happened. I was pretty upset because we were snapping this whole week and he never asked me out. Eventually, on Thursday I went over to his house and stayed the night. Again he told me how pretty I was. He also said he hadn’t had feelings for a girl in a long time especially at the level he has for me. He said he thought he was falling in love and wanted me over 24/7. On Friday morning he asked if I wanted to hang out with him the entire weekend. I told him that I would love to but again, we never did. I’m just confused on why he said all that stuff to me and never wanted to hang out with me. Was he just lying? Is he just insecure and nervous? I’m just confused

There could be several reasons for his behavior.

The most obvious is that he is trying to get into your pants because he is a player. You stated that you spent the night at his place. That could mean anything since you did not elaborate on this subject. If you were intimate, then he has reached his goal and now you are no longer as interesting to him as before he could score.

Another reason could be that he is a big talker but when it comes to the nitty-gritty, he is getting cold feet.

Finally, as you suggested, he is confused and does not really know at this stage what he wants in his life and is torn between getting serious, possibly losing his freedom and making the step towards a serious relation with everything that it implies.

You have to have a serious conversation and don't let him off the hook if he brings evasive answers.

Well, you know this guy better than anyone of us here at G@G. However, my feeling is that he was probably disappointed but did not want to impose intercourse or look needy and that is why he said it was ok.

Very few guys would openly admit that they don't want to have sex when they have the opportunity mainly those in your age group.
