Is a tight and svelte slim hourglass figure, nice height, elegant and feminine mannerisms, feminine dress code, good hygiene and smelling good and a conventionally pretty face with a head full of hair enough to keep men interested?

And suppose if it came with extra qualities like the ability to hold conversations and a kind heart, then would that be the ideal woman?

And suppose she were also multi-talented. Suppose she could cook amazing food from across continents and speak several languages etc...

It all depends on the individual. Many men are quite simple and don't ask for much, just someone who will sit next to them on the couch. Others demand a partner who is ready to travel the world, learn new skills often, and is ambitiously reaching for more in life.

Most of the time, a man (or woman) is seeking a partner that is in alignment with their own life and values. A partner who is physically beautiful and not much more, might be fine for certain people, who don't spend a lot of time with their partner, or don't need that time to be filled with conversations and entertainment.

As you continue to describe, "... and suppose in addition, she...", you are building an ideal or what some might say "trophy" partner. That "perfect 10" of looks, intelligence, skill, charisma, all perfectly balanced. But the truth is, no one is perfect. In my family, my siblings and I are almost all very focused on self-development and getting the most out of life. But we are far from perfect, even though it might appear outwardly to some that we have it all together and our lives are just one blessing after another.

A hypothetical example is the successful executive who wakes up early, works out daily, dresses sharply, is always suave or professional as the situation demands, exceeds goals and expectations in their career, and so on and so on. But internally, most people who are driven like that, are not that happy internally. They are so "successful" because they are never satisfied with whatever they've achieved, so they are constantly pushed to the next achievement. This is a bit of stereotype, but also for good reason.

My point is to look a little deeper to see the person beneath. That is where looks don't matter so much, but on the other hand, if you could have a great personality and be physically unattractive, or have a great personality and be physically attractive, which would you choose? And which would you choose for a partner?

Depends on the guy and past experiences. I was always getting caught up on looks, every time I did and tried to start a relationship, they rejected me. After a few weeks I realised and saw them from a different light and said "Thank F**k they rejected me". Why? Because I was blinded by love and saw them through love heart glasses, I didn't see them properly until I was rejected. Now that isn't because I'm mad about the fact they rejected me, far from it. There have been a few girls (very few), that rejected me and I've continued talking to them because they have no negative characteristics that I've noticed after being rejected.

The number one thing is friendship. Forget about the friend-zone bullshit, it's extremely important to be friends first before a serious relationship. What do you want? A relationship that lasts long with a large possibility of ending in marriage or to start something serious, let the butterflies pass and see that they were full of crap and break up with them. Going for someone based on looks is only going to end in trouble because you don't care about them or the relationship but only about their looks. Being friends first you learn how they act to others, how they will treat you, whats important to them and if their values match yours. Getting blinded by their looks, you ignore all of that stuff that will make a relationship with them work, you are only calling for trouble and are increasing your chances of having the relationship fail.

Yes to win their attention and start dating them. But ultimately, I think what wins men over (and keeps them) is how a woman makes them feel about THEMSELVES. A woman can be 10/10 in both appearance and personality, and something can still miss. That deep feeling of connection and understanding, they do not want only someone to show off or someone who is capable of doing things, what comes down to is compatibility to live a life together. It's same for women. Looks and skills do not mean much if the person we're dating cannot relate to some things in our life, our past, our problems, morals, values, etc. etc.

Physical appearance has a greater impact on men than women. here's what I learned from experience. If you look hot enough, men would do absolutely anything for you. If you're attractive, you will notice that men are significantly nicer to you, for no apparent reason. Many men will fall for you just by the way you look, its something called "love at first sight". And as long as you have a decent personality to pair along with your amazing looks, you will very well be headed towards marriage. The relationship won't fail unless you have some severe flaw that he absolutely cannot overlook.

Now, long term... no.
If a guys is dating a girl and they are having sex and he is getting his fill but she has an annoying personality, her attitudes and values don't line up with his, they don't have much in common, there are things about her he doesn't like... etc.

She does not have to have the latest Paris fashions, BUT keep what she has clean. Have all her teeth and not smoke. Respect your body and maintain your age appropriately. I think that would be a good start, but all of that is just part of the bigger picture. I've dated some very beautiful girls and a few of them were just all about looks, once I realized it was just that and no real personality I kind of lost interest in them. I've also dated a few women that some would say are average looking or a bit overweight... a friend of mine once said that about one girl when I showed him a picture and I got a bit pissed at him. I said, well wait until you meet her and see what you think. She had a ton of intangible qualities that for me made her more attractive and pretty than she actually was. She likes sports, could give out crap as good as anyone and just carried herself with confidence and that was sexy to me. My friend changed his mind and after he met her said ok, she's pretty and a lot of fun too. For me I don't think there is any set list, but way too many things that can't be measured that make a woman attractive, sexy or beautiful to me.

It's certainly enough to grab a first date. It's sad to say... but most men carry just one threshold... is she hot? Once she gets past that potential dq she is pretty much home free. Sure there are exceptions and if she is a real %^&*$ many men won't put up with her. In contrast, and you women may correct me if you wish, women seem to have two thresholds.
