Why do guys put a pillow on their lap?

Question

I have a friend that when he comes to my place he takes the pillow from behind him and putts it on his lap. I have a guess what I could mean but not sure if I am reading to into it.

Could mean nothing.

I usually take the pillows from behind me because they're extremely uncomfortable being between my back and the back rest. I don't put them on my lap, I usually put them beside me and let that person deal with it.

You should ask him. We can’t read minds. Could be hiding an erection, could be tacitly inviting you to lay with your head on his lap.  Could be this, could be that. Ask him.

My ex used to do this, but it was kinda just a comfort thing. He never felt the need to hide his boner or dick lol.

Our arms are heavy. In generally men are much bigger and heavier all around. We often do activities that stress our muscles, bones, and joints. That obviously causes discomfort and pain... Pillows are soft and supporting... It seems pretty common sense. Women gain like 25-35 LB during pregnancy and start to approach the weight of men and they need pillow everywhere or they're going to die. Men live that all day everyday will doing strenuous tasks like single handily picking up refrigerators and don't really complain about it, but god forbid we rest our arms on a soft pillow instead of a sharp rock.

If I had to be honest I a man do such a thing because it gives me a sense of comfort. I wouldn't hide a boner using a pillow that's just... Why? if I had a boner while sitting I would just ignore it I wouldn't be ashamed.

Men typically do this for one of two reasons either they have a boner and want to hide it or they are conscious about their bodies and put a pillow there to feel more comfortable around people
