Are some guys just not into texting?

I met a guy, and we’ve gone out a few times. He just doesn’t seem to want to text outside of setting up dates, or a very causal “hope your day went well”. I’m not used to this. Usually when a guy likes me, he’ll send messages throughout the day.
This guy seems to want to keep seeing me, as he left for a trip and said that he would love to see me when he gets back. But again, barely any texts while he’s on the trip. I guess I don’t have too big of a problem with it, I just want to make sure I’m not being naive about this and justifying him in my head. Thoughts?

My SO doesn't like to text, she prefers talking on the phone. I think talking on the phone can be disruptive... if I'm busy doing something, do I really have to answer the phone and talk for several minutes... I prefer texting... the recipient can read the text whenever they want, and a text is usually short and to the point. Do, we're compromising. I sometimes talk on the phone with her and she's learning to text me and to reply to my texts.

Some people (guys or girls) don't like to text... but they might be taught to like it.

Maybe he has a job that keeps him busy. I don't have time at work for personal communication.

I only text someone to ask a question that I don't need an immediate answer on or to call me at their convenience.

I want to talk to the person. I need to hear how they are saying it, the tone of their voice, sarcastic, irritated, agreement, affectionate. Texting is too impersonal for me.

Oh hell yeah that's common. Texting is tedious to some. Don't let it affect your interpretation of how he feels about you. Trust me. They are not always related.

Yes some people (both men and women) don't like texting at all and do it very little, or ever in some cases. But, in your case it could just also be the way his is. Guys are often very direct and we don't communicate like women do. You'll find this out as you get to know him more.

You can also directly ask him about his texting next time you're out on a date or together in person.

Because texting is impersonal. I'll use a phone or in person rather than text. I like hearing a girl's voice and seeing her face. Texting didn't even exist before the 90s.

I don't care to text. I don't even have a smart phone. I'd rather talk to people in person and only talk on the phone for a short time to set up meeting times.

Who has time for that? He’s dating you, not living with you. You aren’t his girlfriend yet. His behavior is perfectly appropriate. Maybe you need to get a life.

Well honestly I text a lot but I dont like it really, since with text you can't really go that deep or tell experiences or see faces etc. I prefer it irl sadly I am not that social and its a pain in the a** to get to meet someone.

He is using text thanks correct way. Phone calls and I person are much better ways to communicate. Relying on texting everyday isn’t doing someone favors

Yes, texting is a drag. I feel like I’ve done it enough. I want to experience the relationship with a person, not text on a phone.
