I would say yes depending on a guy´s mood. Speaking for myself I would say it really depends on whether I feel I have "news" for the other person or not. Another reason is my level of interest. If I don´t think that what they tell me is either helpful or new to me I´m not interested in texting with them.

Because it detracts from having face to face conversations and actual CALLS on the phone. Text should be a simple 5 w format to get the bottom line up front across clear and concise and not an endless conversation that never ends through the whole day.

I don't know about other guys, but I don't like it either. I personally use texting to give short, to the point messages as I dislike how dry it is compared to an actual conversation in person.
