Why would a bunch of people tell me to block him/he’s playing me. When he isn’t?

Like it was going well he truly opened up to me and shown me love and appreciation then suddenly I hear
“just block him please and never speak to him again it’s for your own good”
”trust me you will be better off without him honestly” I said what doesn’t he like me?
he said “look I think your a very pretty girl you will find someone to take care of you and love you as for him I don’t know”
then other said
”be a fucking woman not a girl don’t let him play you”
…. I have had zero evidence he is playing me, he says they’re haters but he hasn’t exactly told me if they’re lying or not when I say “I don’t understand why they’d lie he changes the subject”
by the way: we are just casually dating he hasn’t slept with me yet or nothing we just kiss flirt, talk etc he opens up to me about his life, family etc so I was very confused … he is literally gaining nothing from me? I maybe paid for something for him a handful of times 3 months ago that’s it.

I feel maybe he tells them he’s playing me to look cool because I date other men I mean I don’t mind if he dates other girls but maybe he wants to look cool or something because he heard his friend was commenting on my pics and he got mad at me for it and upset but told the friend he didn’t care.
