Why doesn’t he just block me?

We’re in our mid 20s. He’s my ex, and we have a 4 month daughter together. He has never met her. He ghosted me when she was born, then he acted like he wanted to see her but it didn’t happen, and then he went back to ghosting me.

When all of this happened, he deleted his FB and I don't know if he has another one?(most likely but I’m probably blocked). He also blocked my phone number.

One night, when I was really struggling. I had just worked a 15 hr shift and our daughter was sick, I messaged him on Instagram and asked him to help me. He took a month just to read it. Then yesterday, again, I sent him another message just asking if he was ever going to meet her and he saw the message but didn’t reply. And also didn’t block me?

He has blocked me on everything. So why not on Instagram also? I’m done messaging him I just thought it was odd he didn’t block me.

I know this isn't you question but as a single mother myself. Don't chase after some dickhead to see the most precious thing in your life! That's how loss! You're doing your baby an injustice for even trying. Id never want anyone around my daughter if they didn't want to be. Fuck them! Me sending him a message was kind of giving him a last chance to be a father. At this point, since he ignored my message, I won’t let him in her life since he made his choice. I just thought it was odd that he didn’t block me.

Sorry about all the typos in my message! We all want our children to have both parents but in this day and age it's pretty normal for them not to, as sad as that is. But my daughter is now 9 and I can honestly say it hasn't affected her. I might as she gets older but even so she'll know she got double the love from me and I'll be there to give all my love and support no matter what she decides later in life. You sound like an awesome Harding working mum! Keep it up! As for the blocking. I really couldn't tell you. I'm not on social media.

He most likely didn't block you on Instagram to keep tabs on your daughter as you are likely to post photos there. Also it gives him a way to contact you as that is one platform not blocked. What he wants who knows.

If it bothers you he has not blocked you on Instagram just block him.

I would say just not block him and ignore him. If he bothers you with unwanted messages then block him.

I messaged him about our daughter. He has blocked me EVERYWHERE else. I assumed he’d block me on Instagram (where I messaged him) because he’s been a deadbeat so far. I kinda just wanted to know for sure. My dad left my mom for the first 6 months of my life, but he came back when I was 6 months old and has been in my life ever since. I’ve seen it with friends of mine as well.

At this point, I wouldn’t let him back in anymore since he didn’t reply. So, me sending him a message was my way of giving him one last chance. And he missed it. I just thought it was odd that he hadn’t blocked me like he blocked me on anything else.

I don’t know his reasons, but I’m not trying to convince him either. I just wanted to know for sure if he was really gone.
