Is it weird that my guy friend keeps asking me these questions?

So me and this guy are always chatting everyday but he started asking me questions like, if I already ate my meals, what I am doing, how I am, how my day is, if I have anything to do, future plans etc. I really don't mind if he asks me how I am but, why is he asking me those kind of questions all of a sudden? It's like, he has business with my business.
Why do guys start asking that?
