Guys, Why does my guy friend ask me about my dating life?

If a guy friend asks a million questions about if there is anyone special, why it ended between some guys and her, what these “relationships” entailed ie were they dates, sex, serious casual, he wants to know it all. He then started talking about how women don’t put as much emphasis on looks the way men do and I said yea a lot of men care about looks initially and he said for him it’s not just about looks, there are other important factors to me.

And he wanted to know which traits are important to you in a relationship and marriage. Why is he asking me all these things?

@SummerSong No, because there are many ways to make conversation without having to discuss your relationship. There have been instances in which I talk to my female friends about the guys in their lives, but I don't do it excessively. It is just one part of the conversation. We talk about other things like traveling, going out, hobbies, the news, etc.

Ok thank you! Yea it was a big topic that he kept going back to. We talked about other things but it wasn’t about news or traveling it was about things that were bothering him in his life, things he doesn’t normally tell people. He opened up to me and was vulnerable. We talked about deep values and fears. Basically this conversation just felt differently it just didn’t seem like I was talking to a friend or just making conversation. It felt like more
