What does it mean, when a guy (friend) asks you about another guy’s butt?

What the hell does it mean? A guy (friend) asked me about another guy, who helped me film movie scenes today. He said “Have you seen his butt?” - i said “no”. Him: “well it’s strapping/fresh/put on.”
And then the same guy burped on his face. They seem close friends (not gay) but why he asked even those questions?

He’s either trying to be a wingman, in a very strange way, or he’s gay, or he’s trying to figure out what a nice guys butt looks like so he can work towards attaining that
