What does it mean when a guy friend gives you a shoulder massage?

All my guy friends are strictly platonic so I'm sure none like me as more than a friend but I know most of them longer than 2years. We don't hang out outside of school or call/text because we don't have each others' number so I guess were just school friends.

One of my oldest guy friends who I've known for about 5yrs gave me a shoulder rub in class eventhough I didn't ask for it! He never does that nor does any guy and I hardly even give my guy friends hugs, I just wave and say Hi. I hope that doesn't mean he likes me more than a friend,but do friends do that randomly just to be nice?

Yes, I don't do that myself but I know guys who do do that as a friend thing.

If this is out of the ordinary for him, then there might be something more here. the only way to tell unfortunately is to ask him.

Or you can just wait and see if he does anything else out of the ordinary around you

Not exactly, I met him in middle school and back then I wasn't into dating. And physically hitting me is the worst first impression...I don't plan to date at all in high school anyways,my mom wouldn't approve.
